For my mom's upcoming birthday, I baked a "coffee cake" which, despite the recipe's title, isn't more than a sugar-cinnamon based plain cake. It turned out lovely, though, with a solid, yet soft texture pleasing to the senses. I'm baking lemon meringue pie with a friend this weekend, and am quite excited. Pictures will certainly be posted!

-The pan I use tends to brown the cake a little unevenly...or perhaps I don't even the batter out properly. 



-A quick batch of cinnamon-sugar mix is the ideal topping to this mildly sweet, rich cake!
